Today we celebrated my nephews 10th birthday and knowing that I would be asked to bring something along, I decided to make this luscious brownie batter dip by Carrian and Cade over at Oh, Sweet Basil. I figured it sounded like the perfect dip to bring to a child’s birthday party (or any party for that matter) and I’m so glad that I did.
I decided to bring everything with me and make it at my brother’s house since it’s a quick dip to put together. While I was scraping it into the serving bowl, my brother, Ben, decided to take a quick taste. He looked at me and said, “It’s so wrong how good that is.” Success! I put it out on the table and one person after another dipped a graham cracker, pretzel, or cookie into it and just looked at me with this look of surprise and absolute delight. Both my sister and sister-in-law immediately asked for the recipe and my girlfriend, Mayra, went on about how she could see using it as a frosting on anything.
This dip really is good. It tastes like brownie cheesecake in a bowl. The mini chocolate chips add to it’s richness, though honestly, if you don’t have mini chocolate chips on hand, we all agreed, it wouldn’t take away from how awesome this dip is. I’d still serve it and I’m sure it still wouldn’t go to waste.
Though, keep in mind, this recipe does make a lot. It is supposed to serve six to ten people, but we still had leftovers, even with how popular it was at the party. That’s okay though, no complaints here. More for later. Make this dip for the next gathering you have and I promise, you’ll be pretty popular.
